THE PRISONER
I originally began pasting up still images from THE PRISONER episode 4 “Free For All”, during my first General Election campaign back in 2015.
It’s the episode where Patrick McGoohan’s Number 6 is similarly standing in the Village election.
This one in Star Yard off Brick Lane, depicts the Village news sheet “The Tally Ho” being printed, with the headline “No. 6 Speaks His Mind”, and I might have pasted it up sometime later than most of the others. It has weathered very well over time.
The Bartleby graffiti just above it is also mine. Along with the decaying crossword Hamsa Hand below, which is itself a precursor to the design of my amber “Pedestrian no. one” there too.

SARTRE
It’s curious to see that “Hell is stupid people” by Savant up the top there. As I’ve recently been frequently referencing Sartre’s original and often misused quote “Hell is other people”. From his 1940s play ”No exit”.
It’s common for people to presume that Sartre was saying that we’re surrounded by tedious idiots or whatever.
But what #Sartre was actually saying is that one of the challenges of existence, is that we have to come to terms with the fact, that we are being persistently *interpreted by other sentient individuals.
or as he also calls it, The Look https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Being_and_Nothingness
